## The best wheel diameter depends on your driving style, from smaller sizes for off-road use to larger diameters for show builds.
The best wheel diameter for your car depends on how you use it and the look you want to achieve.
### For Off-Roading
Smaller wheel diameters, typically 16 to 18 inches, are a popular choice for off road use. A smaller wheel leaves more room for tire sidewall. For example, a 35 inch tire on a 16 inch wheel will have much more sidewall than the same tire on a 22 inch wheel.
More sidewall can provide added protection on rough terrain and allows you to air down your tires for better traction and ride comfort on the trail.
### For Daily Driving
For cars that see mostly street use, 18 to 22 inch wheels are a great balance. They offer a smooth ride, plenty of tire options, and still allow you to show off a stylish wheel setup without sacrificing comfort.
### For a Show Truck or Bold Look
If your goal is a head turning build, larger diameters from 20 to 26 inches create a bold appearance. Larger wheels leave less room for tire sidewall, but they put more focus on the wheel design and finish.
